I have a confession to make. Some of you know this about me already. But truth be told, I am a huge race-ist. I know it may cum as quite a surprise to some of you. I’ve been caught having race-ist discussions at the Hash more than once. And if some of you recall, I actually wore a race shirt to my first hash. (don’t do that)
Now since we’re not actually having a hash this week due to the holiday, I want to take this opportunity to tell you all about an event this Thanksgiving that you should consider.
The South County Turkey Trot is probably the least race-ist event you could take part in. It’s happening in Pismo Beach and Avila Beach. There’s a time clock, but no bibs or medals. All they ask is a $1 donation, or more if you are so inclined. Your donation goes to benefit the SLO FoodBank, https://www.slofoodbank.org/
All you have to do is get your ass down to Pismo Beach or Avila around 8am on Thanksgiving Day to take part. You can bring your dog (on leash) and your your child (also on leash if you need that). Theres a 1 mile, 5k and 10k route, so take your pick. What can it hurt to burn some calories before you get busy eating your Thanksgiving dinner? And its rain or shine to, so don’t be scared of a little water and show up.

I hope to see you down there!
